Making Handmade Valentine Cards With Love…
Real love goes beyond this one day in a year. Taking the effort to surprise your loved one on special days such as Valentine’s is sweet but it’s going the extra mile to incorporate little surprises, cards, notes and planning thoughtful dates on the rest of the days of the year that helps strengthen your affection and love for each other throughout the new year. Going beyond Valentine’s Day itself any day of your week, month or time of day will sprinkle the love dust on your relationship that you need for long-term satisfaction in any relationship. We are all beings who need to be re-affirmed, validated and not taken for granted no matter how long we’ve been together.
Some friends have ordered handmade cards from me and I’ve dutifully obliged despite a crazy few weeks of fighting the flu and also having to deal with my daughter’s aftermath of a very bad fall she had in school, and planning her 7th birthday to boot!
And why wouldn’t I help when of all the things in the world I’m a hopeless romantic myself, love to craft, and am someone who ardently believes that to work on maintaining our relationships, we ought to go beyond this one day in a year that we set apart to pay tribute to all the great loves of our lives, including not neglecting the non-romantic yet supportive relationships we keep.
You’ll notice some of my best designs are simple and look ‘store-bought’ especially those I’d used my Heidi Swapp Minc foil machine and laser printer to create. I hope they inspire you to make some up for your special significant other and loved ones.Happy Valentine’s Day and beyond!
